Apparently no one here has heard Disconnected. It's part progmetal, part industrial. The end. Face it, you like industrial music. Let's see, here's a quote from: www.fateswarning.info/a_apsog.shtmlIndustrial influence, just like I said, exhibited on FW's promotional CD of APSoG. OSI is also undeniably industrial. Jim is very obviously influenced by industrial music. Look at the direction the band has taken. Here's a review of FWX citing industrial influence: www.progressor.net/review/fates_warning_2004.htmlAnother review, speaking of One: rateyourmusic.com/release/album/fates_warning/disconnected/I guess percussion triggers never have anything to do with industrial metal either. It's just so ridiculous that I would associate your favorite band with industrial, isn't it? You just can't face it because you're typical progsnob elitists. I'm glad I could clear that up for you, BenMech and friends. People like you make expressing my opinions while remaining civil so inviting when there's a fanboi around every corner to attack me. Pathetic.

OK dude, point taken...everyone here is a ball buster though. We've all busted chops and had ours busted, your post was a bit on the offensive against the band...so it stands to reason some defensive posts will come back. Not that we're all fanboys, at least personally I'm not offended by what you said at all...I only thought that the Fates Factory comment was hilarious. I guess it wasn't though... To the point, there are some industrial elements in the recent FW albums...absolutely. But they're subtle enough IMO that it hardly classifies the band and their sound into the industrial genre. So when you said "Of all bands I'd expect to go industrial, FW wasn't one of them"...that seemed a bit overstated. Don't take it personal or get mad at the progsnobs. And like I said, it's only my opinion that FW isn't really industrial...regardless of the reviews. For me, industrial music has no feeling and FW still has a ton of feeling in their music. Seth

Industrial doesn't mean 'inherently bad,' just my opinion of the direction they went into. They aren't 100% industrial metal, as no prog band is 100% anything, but the influence is clear.
