Thanks for the greeting I also agree that FWX is an improvement over Disconnected (which I do like though).

I totally forgot about this poll! I had to go with F3 even though my true sentiment lies somewhere between F3 and F4...sorta like an F3.6666666666666666666666667 (hehe ).

Hello. FWX was my first Fates Warning album. At first I didn't think much of it, then I started liking it a lot. Then I got their 9 previous albums and love all of them too. However, FWX is probably my favorite. I'm not a fan of Simple Human or Crawl, but overall, it's such a great album! A Handfull of Doubt!?! Absolutely amazing! Same with River Wide... and Wish! Holy cow and a half! So good!

I love the new album. Fates just keeps getting better. I really liked Disconnected, has some killer songs on it. I really like the direction Fates is going.

Here's my 4 favorite songs: LEFT HERE - Strongest vocal melodies on the CD, SIMPLE HUMAN - crushingly heavy and great, STRANGER WITH A FAMILIAR FACE - finally, a tempo change and a great tracks, WISH - the evocative, despondent Fates we all know and love. Other than those 4 songs, the rest is merely "good" (which is still better than 90% else of what else is out there...)

FWX was fine. Are we hearing any new songs in the near future or is it just over ?

FWX gets a B- from me. 4 incredible songs right off the bat... "Simple Human", "Left Here", "Wish" and "Stranger with a Familiar Face" all of which bookmark the CD (beginning, end). The middle of the CD kind of drags, though, and I definitely miss a second guitar and/or keyboards.

That's funny you say that, because while I really like "Wish," I thought "Simple Human" was the weakest song on the album, am not a fan of "Stranger..." very much, and think "Left Here" is only pretty good. I really don't like "Crawl" very much, but I love "A Handfull of Doubt," "River Wide, Ocean Deep," and "Heal Me." Funny how everybody's got different tastes. Overall though, I think it's a very strong album. -Kerrick

I didn't think "Simple Human" was that happening when I first heard it, but it's definitely grown on me. It just crushes... kinda almost has an Engine like quality to it, and I love that aggressive riffing. It's a great CD, just not up to the standards of past CD's.

Yeah, FWX has some of my favorite Fates songs ever on it, as well as some of my least favorites. I haven't gotten the Engine cds. They pretty good? edit: Ahh! I just noticed there's 666 topics on this board! Ha ha, I had to post that somewhere. I know, totally off topic, but if I made a new thread, there'd be 667 topics, and that defeats the purpose, so I just put it here.
