Agreed about Baker.
If you like Empyrium (who are great), get the members's other bands The Vision Bleak and Noekk.

I'm definitely loving empyrium right now. They've quickly moved up to one of my favorite bands. I like The Vision Bleak a lot though all their songs I've heard (from their myspace and website) kinda sound the same. Would you say their albums are well varied though? They got a cool sound but I could see myself growing tired of them. I haven't listened to Noekk much though I'll have to look further into them.

Kerrick, whats your view on the new Archetype album. I loved their last one. Can't decide on a fave. Only spun the latest one about three times or so.

I too have only listened to the new BTA album a couple times since I was gone all of last week (when it arrived) but so far I'm really liking it a lot - definitely more than "The Physics of Fire." But I'm going to have to listen to it a fair bit more. I also got "Traced in Air" by Cynic which is a stellar album. It also has probably the coolest packaging I've ever seen, plus amazing artwork. But the music is top-notch. Highly suggested for anyone that likes "Focus" or similar music.

I really enjoy Focus. I am going to have to get Traced In Air. I miss that style that Cynic has.

Recently got "Lumikuuro" and "Tietäjän Laulu" by Kauan. Both very good albums. Kauan plays a very relaxing and calm black/doom kind of music with some folk influences. They're on Bad Moon Man Records (off-shoot of Solitude Productions).
