I can't even vote yet since I still have 2 albums to get(Still Life, and Orchid)...and I'm working on it. These guys are awesome and are quickly becoming one of my favorites. I'm still surprised that I took to Mikaels death vocals so easily...but he does have a different style. And a very good clean voice as well. Musically, they blow me away with each album I hear. Beautiful acoustic stuff and great heavy riffs. Martin Lopez is really impressing me on the drums also...especially on "Deliverance".
If I had to pick an album right now, I'd probably go with "Blackwater Park". Seems to have the best collection of both of their styles. Still love "Damnation" also for those mellow moods.
For a favorite song, I'm torn between "Advent" from "Morningrise" and "Deliverance". Both great songs with such diversity. Could change of course when I get the other ones.
Just now getting into "My Arms, Your Hearse". Seems to be taking a little longer, but sometimes they end up being the best ones. "April Ethereal", Demon of the Fall", and "Credence" are the highlights so far.

the whole sequence of album from Orchid through Still Life is amazing. After that, 'Peth really lost their way. Deliverance is ghastly bad.
Damnation doesn't really count as a regular Opeth album.

Still Life gets my vote, but I love Deliverance too. Deliverance is more accessible and has awesome songs, but it can get a bit repetitious. Still Life is a progressive [shadow=red,left,300]monster[/shadow] though!

Really? I've thought that they kind of kept the same formula right along writing wise...but the production got much better and they changed the tone a bit as they went on. I love "Deliverance"...I guess it's hard for me to see where they changed all that much from say "Morningrise". Seth

Seth see Seth I told you some Opeth fans seem to think they changed with Blackwater and can't stand Damnation. I don't get it, they are all great, IMO, not a bad one in the bunch

I don't get it, they are all great, IMO, not a bad one in the bunch Hey nice quote on your signature...just listened to it today. I really have a hard time understanding why an Opeth fan(older or newer) wouldn't like "Damnation". They would be used to their mellow side already, and that is just a broader version of it. As you know, I respect everyone's opinion...no biggie. Did you want to mess with your avatar over here?...let me know if you can get your e-mail working. Seth

As far as avatars go, it's no big deal to me , I'll work on it some other time> Don't know what's wrong with my outlook express, hasn't worked right since I did a complete system recovery. Can send mail on it but can't receive, so I use my cable systems site to read my mail, but it times out and can cut you off.Somethings wrong with my password on outlook, tried to fix it thru the cable site, but it didn't work could call them but I probably would just get more confused, and don't want to pay them to come out and fix it. Got a friend who's real good with PC's but can't get him to come either, guess he's not much of a friend after all

Well, you could always go with hotmail or yahoo. Outlook is much better, but until you get it fixed... I might be able to help you, but we'd need to do it over the phone...way to hard typing all that... Of course your cable co. would still need to be involved...mine is real good with that stuff, bad about others. But they're the best show in town and they know it. Seth

Seth I'll figure it out eventually, been meaning to call them but I'm afraid I won't understand what to do, I'm really a dumbass with PC's. Will send them an e-mail and see what happens
