I've picked up the other 2 albums from them and like them both. I've had "Sahara" longer and like it a lot, it's more one dimensional that the other 2...but really good for their heavy side mostly. "Norra El Alila" is taking some time to grow on me, but there's some really great stuff on there too. I do have an issue with the production on that one, the drums are way down in the mix sometimes...not a real big deal though. "Mabool" seems to have everything that makes them great though and will likely remain the favorite for me.
I'm still so impressed with the musicianship, those guitarists are amazing and very versatile. Really dig the vocals too, Kobi does both styles real well. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Agreed. I love their albums, and OL were very personable when we met them.
I still have to listen to my Ararat vinyl. Somehow.
Have you bought The Beloved's Cry demo cd too?

No, I haven't got that yet...was checking it out on their website though. I do have "Above You All", "Pits of Despair", and a kinda dance club version of "The Beloved's Cry" as bonus tracks on "Sahara". All good stuff too.
They do seem like real 'interested and sociable' with the fans type of guys, at least on their message board...they're very interactive.

Hello, I'm new here. I've been a Fates fan for a year or two though. Anyways, I love Orphaned Land. I have all three albums and can't get enough of them. Except when I got them (a while ago) I had a very hard time finding them, so I ended up ordering Sahara and El Norra Alila all the way from Israel (israel-music.com)! It was worth it though! -Kerrick

Hey kerrick, welcome to the board. Yeah, those albums are a bit hard to find...I found them on an ebay store. Price wasn't too bad considering they came from somewhere in Europe, can't remember where now. More than worth it though, just listened to "Sahara" today at lunch on headphones...man that album kicks ass and the production comes over so good that way. I really hope they'll do a full US tour soon, I think Kobi said something about planning to do one after the next album on their BB...so it might be awhile, but oh well. Seth...

#doh# Let's hope we're not #waiting# that long. At least the word on their BB is it's already in the works, of course probably just writing since they're still on tour.

Ooh... How were they? I'd love to see them! I'm exited about that new album though. Mabool was my first "death metal" (if it really qualifies as one) album. Has anyone heard of Aletheian? They're more similar to Cynic than OL, but I'm just getting into them. They're awesome! -Kerrick

Orphaned Land is writing material for their next album now. The title is ORwarriOR I think (I know, lame...) but I'm sure the music will be good. There's a bunch of meaning behind it and you can check it out on their forum. I thought that some might be interested to know! -Kerrick

I hadn't been to the OL forum in awhile, thanks for posting that kerrick. The concept, while a bit vague right now...sounds pretty cool. I noticed Kobi said the music would be different, which is good although I hope they don't stray too far from the formula that works so well.
I'm sure it'll be great either way.

Yeah, Mabool was great, but I'd like something a bit heavier. Something where you don't have to listen to it all the way through, but maybe more like Sahara where each song by itself is really strong, but together they're even better. Does anyone know what I mean?

I hear ya, but I'm kind of assuming that different means less heavy maybe? Don't know why I think that, might be way off. Even if they do more stuff like "Building the Ark" and "Norra El Norra", I'll be happy. But I still want crunch and growls too.. #git# #vocalist# #rockin#
