I got the same feeling about it being "less heavy." I too want some more heaviness. I have no doubt that watever they do will be top notch, but some good 'ol headbangable (is that a word?) stuff would be much appreciated. -Kerrick

Has anyone read about Steven Wilson from PT producing the new OL? Seems like it was posted somewhere here? Anyway, I guess he's living in Israel(for the time anyway), and has a few other projects going on as well. I think that first article from the bands site said a release this year, but according to the new info...they won't be finishing up till early next year... Bummer, but I'm sure it'll be done right and worth the wait...SW should be able to make it sound perfect and maybe add some of his genious.

Yeah, that's what I heard too. Should be awesome! So, early next year you say? Dang, tons of cds from great bands are coming out next fall/winter: Iron Maiden, Redemption, Pantommind (?), Winds, Borknagar, Wintersun (I think...), and more! I better start saving now. -Kerrick

When you originally posted that link from their site, I think they were shooting for a fall release. But something happened when they hooked up with Wilson for production, think the new link in the Porcupine Tree thread talked about how much he's doing in Israel with other bands and artists as well as the DVD he's putting out. So my guess is OL had to push it back to early '07 cuz of his schedule. Just listened to "Mabool" yesterday, still an absolutely amazing and brilliant album... #git# #drummer# #rockin# #hardrock# #notworthy#

Thanks! I guess I can wait... Oh yeah, Mabool is awesome. I don't listen to Orphaned Land nearly as much as I used to, but they're still one of my favorite bands ever. Sahara is probably my favorite, although I find myself listening to El Norra Alila the most for some reason. All 3 are very strong albums. What do you guys think of the title, "ORwarriOR?" Sounds kind of lame to me, but I have no fear that the music will be awesome.

I'll wait to hear the album before making my thoughts public.
Btw, Steve Wilson's other Israel connection is Aviv Geffen, in their Blackfield project. New album soon. Sample tracks up at their MySpace page (yeah yeah, everyone has a page)

Now Aviv is a chick right? I know the article mentioned he was working with a girl, can't remember if that was the project though. Also mentioned a new PT is in the works, think it said before the work on OL starts...so maybe this year? As far as the title, I don't feel either way about it really...I know a lot of people thought "Mabool" sounded dumb(even though it's another language of course), so as long as the music's good... ;D

I think "Mabool" is a really cool title. It's fun to say too. Mabool.

He is or was working with a girl on something I thought, must have been a different project. I think "Mabool" is a really cool title. It's fun to say too. Mabool. Some people just like to find things to complain about, it never bothered me just by the sound of it...and when I realized it meant 'flood' and the album was about that, it sealed the deal that I had to check it out. Glad I did... ;D

So I checked Orphaned Land's myspace, and I saw this:
Nowadays the band is working on its next release titled "The Neverending Way Of ORwarriOR" produced by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, Opeth), to be released tentatively at late 2008/early 2009
2009?!?!? Lame. I thought it was supposed to be out by now. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to be patient. I guarantee it's going to be one EPIC album though, especially with all the time they're putting into it.

(no idea if that's spelled correctly, but it sure is fitting for this thread, no?.... ) That sucks, but I agree...it should be worth the wait. Think a lot of the delay is due to Wilson's schedule. Man, another year is a long time...since it's already been a long time! Will have to be happy with WoY's new one, can be ordered on theend now for shipment as soon as it's in to them...will be getting that pretty soon. ;D
