This is why could never vote for this Nabob Iraq (news - web sites)'s next likely prime minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, indicated to a U.S. congressional delegation that he was in no hurry to have U.S.-led coalition troops leave. Sen. Barbara Boxer (news, bio, voting record), D-Calif., said al-Jaafari was not as "upbeat as our people, who seem to be very excited about the quality of the Iraqi police force." "My sense was, he was certainly in no rush to hand over security to his new police force," Boxer, a vocal opponent of the war, said during a visit to Baghdad. Could she be more negative and sarcastic. Why this state votes for her time and time again I have no idea. Well I do, really. Diane Feinstein on the other hand has been an excellent senator.

Without hearing how she actually said it and what else she said, I don't see much wrong with that. Maybe I would in a different context, but do you think logically the Iraqies can handle it themselves? There's being optimistic and then there's jumping the gun...again with bad results.
But the past is the past, now we need to stay there as long as it takes for them to become self sufficient and self secure. Otherwise it was all for nothing, which I still fear may be the case down the road.

I see you don't have to listen to this cantankerous wench very often. No one is saying the Iraqis are ready to take over their own security yet. But she will work to undermine the efforts of the amred services and the president every chance she gets. She is absolutely classless.

Yeah, I've heard of her but don't have the pleasure of hearing her speak really. She probably is off-putting and sarcastic, like our Governer over here.
Of course my opinion of pretty much all politicians fits in that category. Hard to take anything they say seriously even though there are some who are genuine.
Wait till this Shiavo girl dies, it's gonna get even worse in the morality issues.

I see you don't have to listen to this cantankerous wench very often. Indeed! I still remember her "cantakerous" grilling of Condi Rice during her confirmation hearing She is absolutely classless. I refer back to my last remark, but replace "cantakerous" with "classless".

Hey, I just recently saw on a certain 24-hr. cable news channel that she just might be a little hypocritical in her approach to voting on judicial nominees. The details escape me, but a video of her from 1997 doesn't quite gel with what she is currently saying vis-a-vis getting the nominees' names to the Senate floor for an up-or-down vote. Things that make you go hmmmmm.....
