Rejoice, Bush voters! Your president has delivered a new responsible budget. We are now only 420 billion short. We've cut 150 programs (and bloated 150 more but that's a minor detail). We really showed those big spending liberals.

Don't forget that Medicare, Medicaid, and VETERAN'S FUCKING BENEFITS were among the losers.

Let's also not forget that the OFFICIAL budget Press Release makes NO MENTION of the additional cost for WARS in Iraq, Afghanistan, and across the galaxy, NOR mentions the 2+ trillion it would cost to "fix" (haha) that "broken" social security system OR The Gestapo's "permanent" tax cuts. What a snake oil salesman... let's strike FEAR into the american people once again! True patriotism: Supporting a regime that inspires fear through deception. These guys and girls should be sent BACK to grade school... and speaking of grade school (see next THREAD)

Hate to say it, but I'm not in the least bit surprised.

Those of us in Southern California... and pretty much any state bordering the south got rammed hard... and without any lube. I am beyond being infuriated. When I'm not *quite* as livid, I'll elaborate. But be forewarned... I tend to get rather, ummm.... How to say.... BLUNT and hotheaded over some of the topics which shall be discussed. (Just don't want y'all thinking I'm some total bitch when you see my dark side) mwahahahah

Alas, it wasn't altogether unexpected, but the arrogance from this guy who thing he has some kind of righteous mandate to basically fiscally screw the middle and lower class for the sake of some "holier than though" messiah complex is ridiculous. Hopefully we'll have some sort of Congressional Testicular Fortitude to VOTE DOWN this budgetary abomination and then impeach the fucker! Well, it's about time people STOPPED falling in line behind his decpetions, manipulations and exploitation of public fears and uncertainty.

Please always remember thanks to FDR and LBJ our government is in an eternal state of bloatation. I think about 75% of our current budget (and quite possibly more) can be traced back to those too.
I wish we could vote for politicians with balls to cut more.
Medicare and Medicaid cuts are good, in principal veteran funding cuts sound bad, but I remember the democrats getting hysterical over that one other time and when I read the actual details it wasn't that bad (it was like a 2% increase instead of a 4% increase or something stupid - ironically that's a cut but the same people will argue Bush inflated the budget, even though he inflated it less)

I can't imagine how Bush's social security "plan" does much for anything than his own ego, the neo-con perception of "class warfare" let alone assists in retirement and financial aid in one's twilight years. His plan is a mess of deception, manipulation, false declarations and right wing propaganda. I just don't see it. The rest of his budget is likewise a disaster not to mention misleading. I mean, forgetting to add thepotentil BILLIONS from the next phase of the 2 Wars? Permanent Tax cuts? The social security plan? I hear grumblings on the other side of the congressional partisan divide as well. Barbie would do better.

Let's not let us forget the cut to Federal Grants for "First Responders". Local law enforcement agencies was cut 90.77% of what is was (from 650 Million to 60 Million). Fire agencies did not recieve as large a cut (from 650 Million to 550 Million I believe). The Federal Grants for local prosecution and incarceration of criminals who fall under the "Undocumented Citizen" category was completely wiped out. This being done while spending for overseas military funding is being increased. Public schools are receiving less Federal funding than incarceration facilities. The Fiscal Priorities of our Government are attrociously out of kilter. I, for one, would hope that our Government would be dually focused on protecting the citizens from both distant and local threats on life, limb and property. And don't get me started on the funding, or lack thereof, in terms of assistance for Medical care (specifically Emergency Medical Care). In Southern California Emergency Rooms and some hospitals are being shut down because they are unable to handle the cost of care for Undocumented Citizens and/or those who are uninsured. The number of these closures is staggering and quite disturbing. One of the largest fiscal economies in the entire country is on the verge of collapse and Washington is looking across the world for places to rebuild. I just do not understand. Somewhere a while back someone pushed that first little domino and now we all get to sit back and watch the entire setup fall over one at a time. Damn.
