What do you have against Shaaman? But that's really sad about them breaking up though... -Kerrick

Yeah, it took a little time getting used to his singing for Angra with his SUPER high voice, but in Shaaman he sounds totally different. Way more controlled and not near as high. Especially on "Reason." Just curious, what of Shaaman have you heard Ben?

I listened to Cynic the other day. Looks like i will not keep it. It´s decent, but the back-ground voices destroy the cd. The death vocals is kind of sleepy too.

eyetoryche...I hear what you are saying. When I first heard Queensryche I was later informed that this was a progressive band and they had older material around, so naturally of course when you first hear a band you want to hear all of their stuff. So I went and listened to pre and post "Empire" and I heard the difference between the albums.
It's the same thing when I first heard Iron Maiden, Priest, and Dio and a ton of other bands. I only heard them at the time I did whether it be their more commercial stuff or whatnot. So I had to backtrack too. Even with Fates Warning, it's only been 2 months since I first heard about them with the Still Life album and I'm backtracking...just recently bought 2 of their albums FWX and APSOG. If I get into a band, I'm always curious to hear what they are going to do. Whether it's commercial or not. Old or new. I'm looking to pick up ALL of Fates albums before the next 6 months. I mean I just heard some samples from their 80's albums and I like em. Even the so called "commercial" ones (eye to eye). So being a prog fan won't limit me to any "prog" band's "prog" songs only. Personally I like the variety between those types of songs, and I like to hear real aggressive songs too, sooo.....if I hear passion and creativity in music, I'm all ears. Oh yeah and killer riffs and mean shreds are freakin awesome too. Right now there's just an immense amount of bands to listen to just in the progressive metal world alone, as I'm currently listening to...But yeah I'm very much familiar with the mindcrime album. There's still a few QR's albums that I have yet to listen to....
