Speaking of John Arch .... Any word on his whereabouts and current plans musically? The last I heard he intended to do a full length album to follow up his masterpiece EP "A Twist Of Fate"...?? Been looking forward to this ever since. Any info?

Didn't he go back to carpentry? I thought that was just a one-off recording gig. Maybe he's in a Paul Di'Anno Iron Maiden cover band in CT? ;-)

Twist of Fate was such a fantastic EP -- gotta say it's the best music I've heard in the last few years that fits squarely in the progmetal genre. I always liked Arch's unique vocal style, but he wrote some excellent music to go along with it.

John is alive and well in Northern CT. He is a neighbor of mine and we talk whenever we can. He does do custom cabinetry still but also competes at Expert level Mountain Biking. I believe sometime this spring, he will be heading to Utah for some riding. A week or so a go, he was up on Mt Washington camping
As for what he is doing musically, nothing right now but there is a possibility that he may do a collaboration w/ a southern based band of which most of the members are early Fates fans. I gave him some of their material to check out and he liked it though it is a bit heavier then what he is used to
He was over visiting a few weeks ago and he mentioned he was looking for another acoustic guitar since his Ibanez is on its way out. We talked about Gibson's so I assume that will be his choice. I did hand him a new Luna catalog and he was impressed with their acoustic offerings
I am hoping we can jump in the garage this Spring and fool around a bit. I am dying to do something myself whatever it is
You have not heard the last of John, that is for sure

Whatever he does, he's definitely still got it, be it writing, singing, carpentry, or apparently mountain-biking :P Thanks for the info, looking forward to more.

Well I'm pretty sure I'm the worst FW fan ever because it's taken me this long to finally pick up A Twist of Fate. Wow. After listening to it I feel REALLY bad for not picking it up sooner. Awesome stuff. I got the digi-pack version which is pretty cool.

Hi all. Any news? Anybody? If there is a sense of life, mine is to hear John Arch singing again. Please! Tell me that this is going to happen.

Did an FW marathon a couple weeks back, mostly the older stuff up through "Perfect Symmetry". All of it is just timeless, never gets old...and I was enjoying the Arch era stuff as much as I ever did way back when. Would also like to see him do something new again, and of course would love to see anyone from FW in general do something new again...someday...

Hey morgana, how about posting John's email address? I'm sure less than a dozen people will even see it given the activity around here... I'm sure he'd be glad to know he still has a couple die-hards left...
