Thought I'd start a thread about albums that people are excited about that haven't been released yet. Here's a few of mine:
"The Physics of Fire" by Becoming the Archetype (May 8th) "Prominence and Demise” by Winds (fall 2007) "Solens Rotter" by Vintersorg (May 22nd) "OrWarrior" by Orphaned Land (who knows when...) "Winter Comes" by Wolves in the Throne Room (sometime soon?) "Lunasense" by Pantommind (who knows when...)

mostly good list, save that first band. (One of those awful Xtian-core bands, right?)
the Vintersorg has been in the torrent-sphere for a while now, but not the rest.

Yeah, that Vintersorg album got leaked real fast. Too bad, but hopefully lots of people will still buy it. As for Becoming the Archetype, yes they are Christian, but I certainly wouldn't consider them awful or hardcore. They label themselves as progressive death metal. They do have some pretty small hardcore influences though. You can listen to them here: www.myspace.com/becomingthearchetypeI'm listening to "Immolition" right now. That'd be a good song to listen to first I think.

Fates Warning.
Or a new Engine album. Honestly I can´t stand Redemption. One song and i´m gone, i find it really fucking heavy-handed. Ray is #1, but he needs real songs. This is only my little opinion; i think 99/99 % here disagrees.

I would be stoked if a new Fates Warning album came out. Though it seems that the band is in no hurry to do so. As for Redemption... yeah I'm definitely in that 99.99% category who disagrees haha. Actually Redemption is what got me into FW in the first place. By the way, is anyone looking forward to that new Sonata Artica album? I've kind of moved on from power metal for the most part, but they got a song up on their myspace and it sounds pretty good.

Yeah, Engine! I queried the man real quickly at the Redemption show in LA last month and asked him just that question... it's not on the front burner or the back burner or any burner at the moment. I think he mentioned something about a similar project with Joey and perhaps, Bernie, but nothing from Engine, alas, which I loved!
Looking forward to another FW album is always part of my wish list, but in the meantime...
Rush - well, that's OUT already, so...
How about Dream Theater? Yeah, I think that's the next biggie for me.

Well i expect a new Fates cd next year, may or june, or perhaps 080808, it´s gonna be called the Inside of a Dream Theatre.
Nick´s a great guy with much more talent than i could ever have, and he deserves to be recognized - as long as i don´t have to listen the songs - i will not keep my copy of Fulness of Time.
I adore Engine though, straight forward, amazing vocals and emotional songs with a nu-metal edge.
I also look forward to a new Eternity X-cd. The Edge is overrated and uneven but Zodiac and especially Mindgames make me happy.
I´m also waiting for a new Dostoevsky.. today´s authors bore me. Jonathan Safrin and Paul Auster - please stay away from my thoughts.
