I've given this a bit of thought, so I figured I would throw this out there. Every Metal fan who buys recordings has to have at least one or two rarities, I would think. What are yours? Mine are: Dream Theater- When Dream and Day Unite limited edition Digipak from One Way Records, number 9059 out of only 10,000 Sodom's self-titled limited first pressing with poster, only 1,000 made. Van Halen- Self-titled 24-carat gold CD produced by the now-nonexistant company, DCC Records. Peter, Paul & Mary- Album 1700 on Vinyl Neil Diamond- Stones on Vinyl I've got a few more, but that's all I can think of right now For all you Evanescence fans, I have a friend who has the original Evanescence demos that she got for Christmas. Damn those screaming Amy Lee fangirls!

Tony Iommi's most recent album, "Fused" signed by both Tony Iommi and Glenn Hughes. Dragonforce - Sonic Firestorm signed by every band memeber except the bassist. Does that count?

I've only been collecting for three years Speaking of signed, I also forgot my CD copy of Priest...Live! that's signed by Glenn Tipton. Found it at a music shop for 8 bucks. Just goes to show you people don't pay attention ;D

Found a few more. I've got Into the Depths of Sorrow by Solitude Aeturnus and Mind Reflections by Pestilence in limited edition digipaks by Metal Mind records. Both are numbered albums, as there are only 2000 of them that were produced.

Not really gems like the above posts, but gems in my eyes: Cynic: Focus -one of the only bands/albums that I simply never tire of listening to. I've emailed members of the band, seen them live, and still follow their current careers as best I can. Even got Paul's autograph outback of the show. This is probably THE album I would take with me on a deserted island. Fountain of Tears: Fate - just got this a couple of weeks ago; pre-ordered direct from their website so I got every band member's signature. Awesome fucking album. It's been playing quite often when I'm sitting at the computer. Death: any album - one of my first and biggest influences growing up, even had a buddy do a phone interview from my house back in the underground fan-zine days.. yet I never got the chance to see them live. RIP Chuck! King Diamond: Them or The Eye - awesome guitar work; Andy LaRocque and King Diamond.. 'nuff said! Rush: Moving Pictures (Gold cd-thingy; still in packaging)... dunno why I bought it other than I love this album. Is it even worth anything? I guess I don't really care, but I guess I do since it's still in the packaging...

Ooh, Focus is an absolutely amazing album. I imagine you're pretty excited about that reunion tour?

I don't have many cds that are super rare or anything, but one cd that really sticks out is "Solinari" by Morgion. It is out of print and fairly difficult to come by, but it is such an absolutely amazing album. I listen to it so much and never get tired of it. Absolutely amazing doom/death metal, though it's not depressing like a lot of stuff in that genre, just soothing (at least to me).
