1) Tool - 10 000 Days.
Never fully understood Lateralus (now it´s broken - i can´t re-value) but i know that not only will this stand the test of time, it will improve ´cause it´s groove is timeless. Just like Aenima which is in my top three list of all the things that was released in the ´90s; i do know my Tool.
2) O.S.I - Free.
They made an excellent debut but this is almost two times better. This is what prog metal is all about. Atmosphere, soft songs, some heavy songs, some short songs. It doesn´t have to be hardet than that. And the vocals suits PERFECTO, no matter what your neighbours keeps telling you.
3) Wolverine - Still
Some Opeth, some Riverside (not much though) and a whole lotta Wolverine. I know Blubbermouth called it borring, boring, boring, boring and guy, and that´s a reflection of how boring and stupid the world can be. I mean where can you find better vocals 2006?
4) Slayer - Christ Illsuion
I don´t care much for death, dislike thrash, i dislike hardcore, i dislike almost every psudeo-angry attempt. There is only one Slayer and that´s Slayer.
5) Enter the Hunt - For life. ´Til death. To HELL with Love.
If this band lasts and develops they should be huge. Right now they´re doing the same song all over, luckily it´s a great song. For me this is the hardest thing ivé heard in several years, the drums are backward and give me headache, the production is black-metal tight and the vocals pretty insane, and he´s NOT growling, the guy is singing his life away.
Hon. Mentions.
Evergrey
Scott Mosher
The Haunted
The worst crap.
In Flames. I just hate it. And those who like it have problems.
Khoma. Useless. I don´t like music that makes me depressed.
Things i need to check out.
SYL, Europe, Celcic Frost, and a couple of others.
