Crimson was their worst.
AMOK is what I'd call their best, though Down is close

I was partial to Shadows of the Past and North From Here, especially the latter. The transition from Death Metal to Melodic Death Metal/Black Metal to kind of a Thrashy-feeling Metal, to Gothic Metal, yet they still kicked ass. The first two are and always will be my favorite.
IF LIFE WAS......EPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!!!

The old stuff is very cool, but "The Cold White Light" is the bands masterpiece.... Absolutely magnificent from start to finish. Epic...
BRIEF IS THE LIGHT - THE COLD WHITE LIGHT The bells again...someone has died The bells of the end toll to remind That life's but a race against time
At your back you'll always hear The Chariot of Time hurrying near The faster you run the closer it comes A pursuer you can not outrun
Hear these words I say: - Make the most out of your day For brief is the light on our way On this momentary trail
Hear these words, awake: - Make the most out of your day For brief is the time, so brief is the time That we're allowed to stay
The bells again...whose turn this time? To reach the end, yours or mine? Each funeral just makes us realize That life's but a series of goodbyes
Hear these words I say: - Make the most out of your day For brief is the light on our way On this momentary trail (too late)
Hear these words I say: - Make the most out of your day For brief is the light on our way On this momentary trail
Hear these words, awake: - Make the most out of your day For brief is the time, so brief is the time That we're allowed to stay
Life passes by, melts away like snow in the spring We all are blind to the running of time ______________________________________________
The Funeral Album is also pretty good. Not as complete top to bottom but solid. The last song on any album of theirs "The End Of The Road" is one of the coolest songs ever writtien. The guitar solo, the last Sentenced solo ever, was inspirational, you could tell he laid everything into it....

The old stuff is very cool, but "The Cold White Light" is the bands masterpiece.... Absolutely magnificent from start to finish. Epic... I will agree with you wholeheartedly about The Cold White Light being a masterpiece. It's a Gothic Metal masterpiece, because Gothic Metal is supposed to feel depressing, am I right? I STILL find it difficult to listen to "Cross My Heart and Hope to Die." Since your death Everything has felt so meaningless and vain that I’ve lost the will to live Love, your death Ripped my heart right out and since you went away Life’s had nothing more to give Cross my heart and hope to die May my end come tonight Across the dark, into the light May death again us unite Love, my fate Will you wait for me there... where our autumn dawns? There, beyond the dreary seas Will you wait? Will you welcome me into your arms once more? Where our waters still fall free Cross my heart and hope to die May my end come tonight Across the dark, into the light May death again us unite Cross my heart and hope to die May my end come tonight I’ll depart from this life May death again us unite May it come... My heart went down with you At your funeral I was buried, too My life ... it ended with yours And I... exist no more Brilliant GM song, it really sets the mood

Hell Yeah! And it's doesn't stop there on that album, just awesome... The ending of "No One There" never ceases to creep me out. I dunno, i've not listened to my Sentenced in a long time. Maybe I should get around to it... I've got all of 'em, what one do you think I should start with? I was honestly thinking Down cuz it's got "Warrior of Life." I'M THE WARRIOR OF LIFE I KNOW THE REAPER BY NAME I WAS BORN ONE FOOT IN GRAVE I'M THE WARRIOR OF LIFE AND MY BLOOD'S RUNNIN COLD I SEE PAIN WHEREVER I GO! God does that song bring back memories ;D

You Can't go wrong with AMOK. NEPENTHE!!! I dunno, I was never able to get into that album as well as the others. It just didn't click with me, considering the vocals and how (i thought) they didn't fit the music. I would probably like it again if I heard it, but yeah. Oh, listened to Crimson and The Cold White Light today after a long time of not listening. I also ordered the Buried Alive box set that comes with 2-CD and 2-DVD ;D

Why? Because I didn't care for Amok? What does it matter that I didn't find that album appealing at the time? What does it matter that I might enjoy other albums over that one? Learn the phrase "To each his own" and then come back and say that again.
