GC is touring the US with Beyond the Embrace. Go see them. That is an order.
Saw them last night with The Gathering, and I will see them tonight with The Hellacopters.
GC are amazing live.

Don't remember much from the first night other than it was mostly stuff from Blessing. Two lengthy improv jams. Saxophone and theramin during 'Lullaby'. The second night, they played about half of 'Light of Day, Day of Darkness.' Amazing.

I've been slowly getting into these guys thanks to a friend who let me borrow "Blessing in Disguise" and "The Acoustic Verses" awhile ago. Haven't thought to much about them although TAV is really sounding good the more I hear it. BiD is decent, but what's cool is I found their DVD "Alive and Well in Krakow" on blockbuster and rented it. Just watched it yesterday and was pretty impressed, talented guys and the sound was excellent. Did all songs from BiD and then half of the long concept song(like you mentioned Gonzo). That was a cool song, may end up getting that album soon. They are hard to peg though, like progressive mainstream...is that kind of the mainstream sound in Norway? Either way, did get a bit more of an appreciation for BiD watching it...and the interview with the band was real good.

Just watched it yesterday and was pretty impressed, talented guys and the sound was excellent. Did all songs from BiD and then half of the long concept song(like you mentioned Gonzo). That was a cool song, may end up getting that album soon. I would really like to strongly recommend Light of Day, Day of Darkness (the 1-hour long song). As much as I enjoy The Acoustic Verses, that album is a couple of cuts above all of their other discography so far, and has remained, for 5 years now, among my favorite albums of all time and one of the most important reasons why I am keeping my faith in the genre of progressive metal. Tchort really did pour a lifetime of feeling and experience into that musical piece, and it's magical to hear (you may find references to divine intervention in some of the many 10/10 reviews of the albums, and I can see exactly where those are coming from). Their other albums have great individual songs, but haven't quite captured the overall grandeur of that masterpiece. So I hope you do buy that album--I am almost certain you will not regret it one bit.
