After years of incompetence, corruption, and lack of accountability, a revolution has finally called and this country can once again recoup the greatness of its past.
Scare tactics are over. "Elect me or the terrorists will win" nonsense has been seen right through. The Democrats have just secured power of both the house and the senate. Rumsfeld is gone. One of the most embarrasing, darkest times in our history has hopefully bottomed out.
I want to be very clear about something: The American public has spoken. We live in a democracy, NOT a dictatorship. Our elected leaders have a solemn responsibility to serve the interests of the American public, and we all know what that means. It has already started.
The Democrats didn't win huge last night, America won huge. Our armed forces won huge, they will hopefully be given a competent leader that is not trying to write himself into the history books. Hubris has been removed. Accountability is been restored. If you can't do your job right.. watch out.
To the neocons, I challenge you to revisit your ideals and ask yourself the tough questions.. were the leaders you had elected really serving your interest, or just special interests? Were they really in favor of small government? Were they really fiscally responsible? Were they really a better alternative than democratic oversight? My guess is that anyone who is objective would say absolutely not. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I have to believe the true conservatives are breathing a big sigh of relief tonight.
Truly a historic time. Congratulations to all Americans.
