All of us can only hope that this country takes a strong hard focus on the fraudulent evidence that directly led to more civilian deaths than ever under Saddam Huessein.

This CIA leak case has been an important day in history. For people like me, it affirmed that there is no substitue for thinking for yourself. The reasons for war was fake. Some of us were saying it again and again before it ever happened and not jumping on the bandwagon later. Others of us elected not to look at the hard facts or think for ourselves. And now we've come to find out that llegal efforts were made to cover up the fake evidence used and to punish those who applied logical and reasonable contrary evidence.

And I sincerely hope the war hawks, or more importantly, all of those red faced citizens that supported the war and....still... would rather pump billions into iraq and see thousands more die than admit they were wrong.. don't try and downplay the real message of this case. Everyone knows this case is about taking a country into a unilateral war. Lets never forget the underlying facts and circumstances that led to this indictment.

My only hope is that this doesn't undermine the strategically placed withdrawl of Harriet Miers. Are you conservatives finally getting an idea of what people like me have been saying the last 5 years?!? This guy is incompetent and unintellegent. He doesn't know how to make good decisions. He doesn't understand that putting a friend on the supreme court for life (or FEMA) with no real experience with is not only bad for the country, but insulting to his own base.

Abate that is BS. Libby was indicted on everything but outing a CIA agent.

Why is that. The fact is there probably wasn't even a law broken in the first place.

Can you think for yourself and admit that the goal of the 2 year independent inquiry was see if anybody purposely outed Valerie Plame/Wilson. And that the only thing they got was that Libby, an nearly inconsequencial official allegedly obstructed justice after the fact. Fact is if there was never the inquiry there would not of been a crime committed, given what we know today.

Fitzgerald gets up there and cries out about how important it is that we keep the identities of CIA agents secret and then he doesn't even find anybody guilty of that.

The Senate is on record in their overwhelmingly one sided assessment that Joe Wilson's report saying Saddam was not trying to get yellow cake from Niger bogus. For example, Joe Wilson said that the Vice President's Office sent him to Niger, which was a total lie. That was just the beginning. Check it out sometime, it's on the Senate record.

The fact is that The British still stand behind their intellegence. So when you say that it was the Bush adminstration behind this so called lie over yellow Cake Uranium from Niger your wrong. Call the British liers, but no one has proved that the intellegence was false. Joe Wilson didn't that's for sure.

The fact still remains... That before the war, Bush said Saddam had WMD, Clinton Said he had WMD, John Kerry Said he had WMD, THe BRittish said he had WMD, Russia Said he WMD, Just about everyone, except you, because you were so smart, thought he had WMD.

You're Brilliant. You knew more than all the leaders in the known world.

And by the way he hasn't been found guilty yet.
There hasn't even been a defense mounted yet.

The war hawks want war to profit from it. They don't give a crap about reasons. The only message they are getting from this case is: hey - sometimes bad things happen but at least we still made our pile of money and some flunky volunteered to take a dive.

The red faced citizens don't write their own messages. They take the message that is told to them. They won't be downplaying a real message that they've never heard.

That's justice American style. Same BS crap with Clinton. Same BS crap with Martha Stewart. When a federal prosecutor lacks evidence of the crime stated in the indictment, they always fall back on the BS charges. Look at where that crap got Giuliani.

This is a silly thread full over oversimplification and bitter self-congratulation.

It's actually more of a thread of trying to understand how the gov't works in these situations. We can all point fingers and most of us don't know all the facts...but one fact is we would be shocked to know the truths that lie beneath the surface. The gov't are masters at covering shit up, and it's not like the movies where it can be uncovered...it just stays that way and if anyone's life is ruined, oh frickin' well.

There are alterior motives for everything the gov't does, especially war...no one should be lulled into thinking it's all being done for the good of Iraq and worldwide Democracy. Both sides are guilty of it in one way or another, and even when some good comes of it...innocent people always get hurt and nobody else pays the price.

Let's just say that someone higher up in the Bush admin. is involved or directly responsible for this...like Rove for example. Does anyone honestly think that it would fully come out and consequences be handed down? Even the Dems who would love nothing more can be bought, because their bottom line is not justice either.
