COME. ON. MAN everyone knows this is an abysmal distraction to our fradulant case for war. why on earth would you or anyone be concerned about oil-for-food when the phony evidence that has lead to the deaths of more civilian iraqis than ever under Huessein is indirectly under question via the CIA leak case? this ain't the liberal media talkin. nobody cares about oil-for-food except for republicans trying to shift the spotlight off their own follies. it's like focusing on a speeding ticket when you just got a dui.

That is an interesting read regardless, and reading it...I go back to the fact that we would all be shocked if we knew the extent of corruption that goes on around the world and human suffering that is the by-product.
Despite my feelings on the war, I have no love for France, Germany, or Russia... can't trust as 'em as far as you can throw 'em. And I do believe their bitch about the war comes from their financial loss to a big degree.
Bottom line is, the UN is corrupt as are all of the countries in question...including the US.

Ignore the facts chief.. What has lead to the deaths of more civilians is the brutal enemy we fight. The terrorists. You always fail to even recognize anybody elses culpability other than that of the US. You act like we are the source of all the misery in the world right now, when most of it is because of Muslim radicals. They have killed more innocent lives in the last quarter century than any other entity. So when countries are in cahoots with people like Sadaam Hussein who openly supports terrorism, IT IS A BIG DEAL... in my book, and it should be in yours. The US is not doing the killing of civilians in Iraq. Osama and his ilk are doing it, just as they have for a long time, and just as they will continue to do unless the landscape in the middle east is changed. And Iraq's government is well on the way. Freedom, Democracy... how come you can't get behind that for these people? I'm behind this ideal for the middle east. If only the rest of the world was, instead of rousting the Iraqi people and lining the pockets of Sadaam in this Oil for Food fiasco. The way I see it, we are supporting the good people of Iraq, and you are not. We are supporting the good people of Iraq, and France Germany and Russia are not. The double standard is incredible. Bosnia, was the exact same war except, there was no threat of WMD... and No one had a problem with that... Because it was easier.... And it was Clinton. But apply the exact same logic to Iraq, throw in a little republican presidency and all of a sudden it's a travesty. Give me a break homey, taint buyin' it.

Oh my gosh! Governments are corrupt. Dog bites man. Joe It is kinda funny, and all gov'ts and political parties are guilty of it...but in the current situation it's comical to watch the party under fire protest. This isn't so much directed at you Bret since you do have that sensibility, but some of the guys I work with who are staunch Republicans and of course the offenders along with their pundit defenders. They will fight to the death that their party is beyond reproach, has never and will never do anything corrupt...and immediately go back to Clinton's extra-marital fiasco to spin the subject. As if there's any comparison to what they're coming under fire for. Clinton wasn't an angel in a lot of ways, but you still can't justify a wrong by pointing out another one. Seth
