Has anybody kept up on Yahoo's front pages stories. Every story of Iraq no matter what the subject. (the constitution, The Kurds, The Shiites, The Sunnis, Baghdad, Elections, Military operations, Relief projects) You name it no matter how benign the story is to the fighting or not this little blurb is always in every story.... The U.S. military said two U.S. soldiers from Task Force Liberty were killed Monday by a roadside bomb during a combat patrol north of Baghdad, and two more soldiers died when their vehicle overturned during a military operation near Tal Afar. At least 1,870 U.S. troops have died since the Iraq war started in 2003, according to an Associated Press count. Why do they need to remind us of the death count in every freakin story. Today in baghdad children started school today. and... There were 2 more soldiers who died. Bring the total to 1873 Today in Kut Ali bali wally shrine was taken over by shiites insisting that the government provide better electricity. and.... there were two more solders who died bringing the total to 1875. The Government in Baghdad recently signed the draft constitution in law...and two more marines died today bring the total to 1877.. Why is this put into EVERY fricken story... Is there an agenda? It's almost as if they revel in it.

Umm...I just looked at Yahoo News a minute ago and didn't see a reference to American dead coupled with the article on the Iraqi constitution. Did I miss something? I guess that's what I get for not keeping up with Yahoo's front page stories. #doh# However, if it's true that you aren't exaggerating then I'd have to say that somebody at AP has an axe to grind. If reading Yahoo News disgusts you then stay away from Slate. I only read it so I don't forget how to roll my eyes back into my skull.

Why do they need to remind us of the death count in every freakin story. Because people are interested in it. The antiwar folks want hysteria fodder. The prowar folks want to honor their sacrifice. Joe

Draft Constitution Adopted by Iraqi VotersAP - 1 hour, 30 minutes ago BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's landmark constitution was adopted by a majority in a fair vote during the country's Oct. 15 referendum, as Sunni Arab opponents failed to muster enough support to defeat it, election officials said Tuesday. A prominent Sunni politician called the balloting "a farce." The U.S. military also announced the deaths of two Marines in fighting with insurgents last week in Baghdad, bringing the number of American service members killed in the war to 1,999. Say what.... Then the story went back to the main premise.

Reuters admits altering Beirut photo First Published: 08.06.06, 10:41 Latest Update: 08.06.06, 20:00
Reuters withdraws photograph of Beirut after Air Force attack after US blogs, photographers point out 'blatant evidence of manipulation.' Reuters' head of PR says in response, 'Reuters has suspended photographer until investigations are completed into changes made to photograph.' Photographer who sent altered image is same Reuters photographer behind many of images from Qana, which have also been subject of suspicions for being staged
A Reuters photograph of smoke rising from buildings in Beirut has been withdrawn after coming under attack by American web logs. The blogs accused Reuters of distorting the photograph to include more smoke and damage.
The photograph showed two very heavy plumes of black smoke billowing from buildings in Beirut after an Air Force attack on the Lebanese capital. Reuters has since withdrawn the photograph from its website, along a message admitting that the image was distorted, and an apology to editors.

I guess because good news never lasts for long, it always turns back to bad. Honestly, I haven't been paying much attention to any of it lately... too tired to worry about anyone but me...LOL! Do take note of the sarcasm please...
