Damn that liberal media.
Considering people have FINALLY gotten to hate Rumsfeld, but voted his boss in again anyway, I think the person of the year award ought to go to the American public and then have it briskly taken away.
NP: Moonsorrow - Kivenerataja, or however you spell it.

Ya know what would really get people's panties in a bunch? Having either "God" or Jesus as the person of the year... oh my lord the masses would have a conniption... The Muslims would be crying for Allah... the Buddhists would be rubbing bellies around the country in protest... The atheists would be saying, "Who?"... I think I may nominate one of them for next year... Before the names are considered illegal to mention in public. When that happens... I'm sure gonna feel bad for all the Latino men named Jesus.

Yep! I agree with you on both accounts (the masses not caring... I mean why should they, after all). Hope the sarcasm in my post was self-evident And the inauguration protesting fanatics... Man. Some peeps just have too much time on their hands (including me... I shouldn't be on here NEARLY as much as I am! lmao)

Just a note:
in 1939, Time's Man of the Year was Adolph Hitler.
They pick the most newsmaking persons for the cover, not neccessarily the most admirable.

LOL Like getting a job. Ok now I'm being sarcastic But seriously, Some of these folks need to get over it. The people have spoken. You win some ya lose some. Find yourself a viable candidate. Come up with some viable ideas. Run a viable Campaign. Your protests are futile. Find another more useful outlet for your ideas. You just can't attempt to vilify your opponent without offering a viable alternative.

I is a stoodent (who also does about 5 million different things, some are paid... some not. does that count? ) /end sarcasm Naw I wasn't talkin 'bout you... ;D People call the president a liar but can't find one thing he's actually lied about. The only thing they canpoint to is the wmd stuff, but the whole world thought the same thing at the time. That was a CIA snafu thing. He's making decisions on the intel he's getting. I just see people barrage the President with names like Liar and killer and I don't get it. There seems like a group bashing mentallity. Hey.. he said he was a bad guy so he must be. But in reality most don't even care. Most seem to care more about the money it costs than about the people of Afghanistan or Iraq. If it wasn't for Georgy, Kite Flying and Music would still be illegal in Afghanistan, women would still be prisoners in their own homes without being able to go to school. We probably would have just lobbed a couple of missiles in there like last time. Yeah Iraq is messy but we're there trying to protect the Iraqi's from the very people who have oppressed and killed them for decades. Bush just gets shit because he's a man of action. I don't agree with all of it either especially a lot of his domestic policy, but he's definitely walking the walk. He says what he means and acts upon it. We will be the first and most prominent country involved in helping the people of the south pacific with the Tsunami, but it will go reletively unnoticed a probably criticized in the end. That criticism will come from the same place as the the other baseless criticism of the Bush administration. You can almost count on it like clockwork. Your local neo-conservative facist. (thanks for that title Ben!) ;D

I have a problem with politicians in general. IMO, 99% of them are corrupt simply because human nature dictates it...they can't hold those positions and not take advantage of everything and everybody. I also have serious issues with organized religion, as we see more and more, they are some of the most corrupt organizations in the world. So when I see a politician talking about Jesus and God is on our side...I want to run for the hills... I don't necessarily think Bush is a fanatic(sometimes I wonder)...but the combination of those 2 positions he takes really makes me not trust him. I still think Iraq was a rush to judgement and rush to war...if somehow it all turns out great and there's a flourishing democratic gov't there, it could be argued that it was worth it. But I really don't see that happening any time soon, if ever. That's a hot bed of holy war hell in the Mid-East, and Iraq is smack in the middle of it...hard to imagine a democracy working there, even if the people want it. The rest of those whackos won't allow it. As far as domestic policy...I'll take a wait and see approach. He hasn't signed anything extreme in yet, but there are several hot button issues that will divide this country more than ever if he goes too far. All IMO of course... Seth
