Thanks to hellish traffic (turning a 2 hrs ish ride to like 3.5 hrs) I got to the show half way into Into Eternity's set. I saw 3.5 songs, it sounded tinny a decent performance otherwise, singer can really hit some high notes. I saw "Elysian Dream" and "Beginning of the End" and one other song (something about winter). I assume they played 30 min which I saw 15 or so of.
Redemption had awesome sound though and played very tight. "Threads" and "Release" are the only songs I remember recognizing (nothing off the first album and maybe 4 off the new one). My enjoyment was somewhat inhibited by worrying about my wife who decided to get a bite to eat without telling me, but she showed up before DT. I think they played about 40 min.
DT had very good sound too, Labrie sounded a bit strained on some of the high notes but ok otherwise. The video screen had some cool stuff on it but my view was blocked by speakers. Setlist was (order may be off) "Constant Motion", "Panic Attack", "Surrounded", "Dark Eternal Night", "Another day", "Lines in the Sand" (highlight for me), "Blind Faith", "Presence of our Enemies" (whole thing). Encore was a medley of parts of "Trail of Tears", "Learning to Live", "finally free" "In the Name of God" and "Octavarium". Jordan pulled a keytar out not once, but 2x. Myung and Portnoy had 0 solos. Jordan had a few Petrucci had a bazillion. Played slightly over 2 hrs total I think. My least favorite time seeing them. Seeing as they ignored their best albums and played the shittiest songs off Images and Words, and the keytar? well it was cool, funny and oh so homosexual all at the same time.
I was most excited at the prospect of meeting Nick and/or Sean but that didn't happen either. The performances were good, everything else about the evening pretty much sucked though.
