Switching gears here, this is a really neat early version of "One". More spoken parts early in the tune, and the melody flows just as seemlessly as the final version on Disconnected, even if none of the lyrics had been written yet. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxiXBNymB6Y&feature=relatedThis confirms some of the interviews with Ray where we would say that he would sing random and unintelligible words to the music just to get the melodies down. This is ever so apparent, especially the unintelligible part. hahaha. It's like trying to decipher Stevie Nicks song lyrics while underwater. Also interesting to note that the part of "One" at the end where Ray gets "anthem rock" on us with "I took a part of you, you took a part of me", on this version, there is just silence (3:25 - 3:28). It was a great move by them to make sure this silence didn't happen onthe final version, as that is one of the more crowd driven sections of the song in the live setting. As far as opening tracks to a live show, outside of "The Sorceress" from the Awaken the Guardian tour, I contend that "One" is still the best way to open up a Fates show in the modern era. It kicks, drives, and moves along at a nice pace, and yes, the crowd contribution part doesn't hurt either. "Something Everything" is a pretty neat early version of the song most recognized from the Disconnected LP. thraxhead
