Bought the live DVD the day it came out here in the states. Looks and sounds great! But the DTS 5.1 mix is sadly missing. Was really looking forward to that. It still sounds good, but the DVD 5 just isn't the same. Does anyone here have a DTS version?

hello guys! i watched the dvd today and it's realy a great one! althought, i have to do a comment: i was there that night and their performance was impressive. as it seems, although Ray was ill that night, he did his best and although he did some mistakes as you can listen to, there are no overdubs! my obsection is here: the audience is to low. for example, if you were there that night, you could see, that in the the first 3 songs, every single one in the venue was singing the lyrics of the songs and the "volume" of the audience's singing was almost equal to the band's volume. that is something that is missing from the dvd. the audience is too low and, believe me, they (we) were loud enough...

It seems like they hardly ever record the audience at full volume any more. They used to way back when, but these days they try to get the sound as clean as they can. Also the crowd always sounds louder when your in it.

Incredible, this is the word to describe this show. Ray is singing as never before.

What? Ray didn't even attempt to hit the high notes... His talent pulled it off, but his voice and range are like never before, but thats not a good thing. He sounded great but as animae said might have been sick and all those marlboros don't help. Overall I think he is a much better singer now, but his range is gone and his voice is getting more gruff every time I hear him. Don't get me wrong, Ray Rules and he is a great singer!! But time is no friend to his voice.

I never liked the "Ray high notes"...but a like so much the "new" voice of Ray. Disconnected and FWX are my preferred records. Just a point of view.hehe

well, I finally found the dvd. Wow, it is great. It is the best Fates release so far, I think. Ray sounds great, yes he doesn't hit those old high notes, but still sounds great. I have not watched the bonus material yet. It was well worth the wait.

I think the DVD overall is really good, the production is fine and the set list is very good. I do see what everyone was complaining about regarding Frank, but I also noticed that they didn't focus on Jim much the few times he soloed. Not sure what that's about... As far as Ray, I think he sounded pretty good and I still like his voice a lot. There's no doubt though when they do the older stuff like "Quietus" and "Nothing Left to Say" that the high notes are a sorely missed factor. I've grown away from that style of singing over time, but when I listen to the old stuff from FW or any of the metal scream bands...I still like it if it was done well. Obviously his voice was impecable on "No Exit" and "Perfect Symmetry" for that style. Times change though and certainly age and other factors will make that impossible, but he pulled off every song very well IMO. I do wish there were more extras, like studio and behind the scenes interviews...these guys just aren't camera hams, that's for sure. Seth

I just got the DVD a few days ago to prepare myself for the London gig. I really like it and I like the way it's been shot as well. The only that strikes me as odd is that I can't hear any of Frank Aresti's solos! I play my DVDs in stereo so I thought that maybe by default the DVD was set to Surround so I went back to the menu to look for sound settings to set it to stereo. To my surprise it was not there.
I was wondering if anybody else had this problem and did they fix it?
Thanks
