I know most of you guys are hardcore musicians and music lovers, but I think I have a knack for spotting crowd pleasers. I was skeptical when I bought this cd, but I am a huge fan from long ago. I remember when the Scorps were probably the hardest rocking band on the planet.
I love this CD!!!! Very complete, well produced, well written piece of work from a very accomplished group of guys. I miss Francis and Herman, but this one hits the nail on the head. I'm impressed.

I just wanna say that i dislike hardcore in a way that´s extreme. Ther´s no genre i the whole wide world that makes me so sick as hardcore, it´s the lowest of the low. I thought i was anti-punk, but punk-rock sounds avarage compared to hardcore.
Scorpions were really cool in the´70s with that monster guitarist Jon Uli Roth. He´s on my top five list, i think. Much "better" than Yngwie in any case. To bad he can´t sing, that makes his solo stuff hardly decent.

Much "better" than Yngwie in any case. To bad he can´t sing, that makes his solo stuff hardly decent. I did not use the word "hardcore" in reference to the genre. I don't acknowledge hardcore as a genre. What people call -hardcore- I call shit played by wannabes who hardly know their instruments. I used the term to describe many of the regulars around here as being intense music fans with a higher level of knowledge than most. In other terms that sound less flattering, maybe 'elitist hardrock fans.' This is how many of my friends often describe me. As far as your take on the Scorps, I have "Lonesome Crow" all the way to "Crazy World" and I like the progression that the band took to morph themselves into the US market. They are brilliant musicians to transcend and last the way they did without much compromise. They certainly got more polished at "Lovedrive" which was intended to break into the US market, but the focus on the guitar sound has always been front and center. Mathias Jabs certainly had done a fine job, but I would have liked Michael Schenker sticking with the Scorps. I like Uli's music the best on all the early stuff. Especially on "Taken By Force." But, I think that people generally favored his stuff and that is what got him out of the band. He did not want to play as a team and got the idea that he was the leader of the band. Rudy's brother Mike, was lurking and telling them otherwise I am sure. Roth was/is a great musician (sans vox ) but ego got him in the end. Mike

Mike - can you get rid of that avatar pic? any forum page you reply to keeps asking me to log on to the Queensryche forum, which would be fine if it wasn't password regulated.
