I saw such an awesome movie the other day. I ended up buying it and watching it again a couple days later. It's called "The Proposition" and stars Guy Pierce as an outlaw in 1880s Australia. To save his younger brother from hanging, he has to go find his older brother who's crazy and kill him. The scenery and music were absolutely amazing. Acting was really solid. It's not super fast paced which might deter some people, but I loved it. Go watch it!

I watched "Hot Fuzz" in the theaters this weekend. That's the one with the "Shawn of the Dead" guys in it. I liked it more than the rest of my friends. It's kind of slow, but pretty funny and had multiple references to "Straw Dogs" which is one of my favorite movies. We also rented "Dead Alive" (directed by Peter Jackson who did "Lord of the Rings"). It's this old 80's horror/comedy. It's absolutely hilarious. With quotes such as, "your mother ate my dog!" and "I kick ass for the Lord" how can you go wrong?

Dead Alive (which is also known as Braindead) is one of the besat horror comedies ever.

Oh man it is awesome. Just ordered it from Walmart.com (gasp!) today. I can't think of many other horror comedies better than it. "From Dusk Till Dawn," "Grindhouse," and "Dawn of the Dead" (the remake) are up there though for me. I'm looking forward to "Undead or Alive: a Zombedy." It's a zombie western comedy with Chris Kattan? Should be interesting...
EDIT: I forgot about "Slither!" That's a hilarious movie.

Seen a couple of good ones recently.
Sunshine: i was mentally prepared to walk away from the theater, or just trying to catch some sleep, but this film was a killer from the first minute. Imagine: Event Horizon meets Solaris and then add ten ton powerful intensity. 9/10
Pan´s Labyrint: extremely well-made movie. The ending scenes.. wow. 7/10
Little Miss Sunshine: pretty cool family film. 6/10

I'm definitely looking forward to it. Glad to hear that it was good! I enjoyed "Pan's Labrynth" but I thought that the ending was too cliche and typical. Otherwise it was a wonderful movie. Haven't seen "Little Miss Sunshine" but I've heard nothing but great things about it. I'll have to check that one out soon.

Well I saw "Sunshine" not that long ago. I liked it quite a bit, even if the science/physics were a little off/completely impossible but whatever. Overall it was a well done movie. I'm usually not into the romance movies, but "Paris Je Taime" was absolutely amazing. It's 18 short (~5 min - 8 min) vingettes all about love, from romance to father/daughter to friendship, etc. Each segment is directed by different people, including the Coen brothers, Wes Craven, and a bunch of French people. Most of it is in French with some segments in English. Very artistic without being overdone. I highly recommend it.

Yeah "Sunshine" is a very visual film - I would definitely suggest watching it on a large screen. Haven't heard of "Inland Empire" though I will check it out. I'm pretty stoked about seeing "30 Days of Night" tomorrow though! There's a rated-R clip online which is one of the coolest things I've ever seen: some guy in a tractor with a trench-digger chainsaw thing is driving around slaughtering vampires. It's super violent in a very comical way. I love movies like that...

So you like ultra violence in a ironic way, that´s probably the genre i hate most. Fuck Clockwork Orange, what a lame movie, i understand what little Cubrick was trying to say, all too well, but the way he did it was just lame and boring. The only scene i care for is when that woman removes her clothes.
I like movies who are infiltrating the human spirit and actually says something about society. The Collateral, American Psycho, Open Water, the Straight Story, and Narc (what an excellent film that was).
