1) Sorry, but he WAS a teeny bit out. Even if he wasn't he sounded horrid, and i fsking ADORE Ray's voice. 2) That's more than obvious. I prefer Ray but John would've been better on there. It was kinda like Awaken The Guardian 2. 3) Ray may now be my fave vocalist having replaced Geoff Tate.

Easily Perfect Symmetry, especially for that time it was completely amazing and progressive.

After careful listening of almost all of Fates' albums, I will have to say my favorite is now a tie between Parallels and A Pleasant Shade of Gray. The 53-minute-long opus is a Progressive Metal masterpiece, and gives other opuses (izzat a word?) like Operation: Mindcrime from Queensryche, and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence from Dream Theater a run for their money. Dream Theater's wins with technicality. Queensryche's wins with length. Fates Warning's wins because of quality; emotion and technicality, something a lot of Progressive Metal acts seem to lack (emotion). And Ray is definitely an emotional singer. Plus, with Kevin Moore on piano, there is even more added emotion.

Parallels. APSOG very close second. How many Fates albums have you had the chance to listen to? Parallels was my first, but I find it very easy to appreciate more of 'em now that i've listened to everything I have by them. I'm only missing one album, and I want it badly
