I don't, I support those who are willing to stand up to evil, not the wimper like cowards and run with their tail between their legs before winning the peace, while emboldenig the islamic radicals, and abandoning young democracies wing.... you know, the ones who voted for the fight, but refuse to fund it, fight it, or support it... The one who Want to lose....

Despite mounting opposition to the war in Iraq as the conflict pushes into a fifth year, Australian Prime Minister John Howard delivered an impassioned defence of his decision to fight alongside close ally the United States.
"What Iraq and her people need now is time, not a timetable. They seek our patience, not political positioning. They require our resolve, not our retreat," he told the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

Hey, where is this "evil?" I guess if you buy into the DIck Cheney conspiracy theories, then using that "logic" there's evil everywhere except the US. I think it's pretty overwelmingly evident that the entire Iraq war - mark 2 - was a deceptive fraudulent mistake and the White House still can't come to terms with the facts and their own counter-intel (that is, counter to their rigid beliefs even when their own generals in the field and off the field tell them otherwise.) "Winning the Peace" isn't really possible at this point, anymore than it was before the war began. I wouldn't necessary call unwavering support for a failing war anything less than a tragic miscalcution bordering on criminal at this point. The darn thing was mismanaged and bungled from it's inception, 8+ years ago.
I say let's just stick a Space Armada at the outer fringes of the Kyper belt and be DONE with Iraq already.

Another thread... another example of a neocons wishing to go down in flames and take everyone with him rather than admitting to incompetence and a tragic war policy blunder.
iraq was a blunder. smart people don't perpetuate blunders. they own up and don't hide behind the flag or the troops. alarm clock still going off raiderblack... time to wake up.

Who is this everyone that is going down with them... you? me? wtf? Tell me what do you guys think will happen if we pulled out of Iraq today? Do you think that leaving Iraq will somehow fix this so called blunder? America will never win another war.... because the pussification of America is solidly intrenched.... And our enemies know it. And they will have confirmation soon...

Granted "pulling out" couldn't happen in a day or two, but it's a very real possibility not to mention a darkening reality for some in power. I think SB is right, though... American probably can't win another war but for an entirely different reason: our political capital worldwide as well as our military has been squandered. I don't think most of the rest of the world really operate in John Wayne ideolgy... maybe Lonestar, though!

We are going to pull out fairly soon just not too soon and lets not tell the enemy when.... Senator Reid saying that we lost this war proves he's a defeatist... When this country stops standing up for liberty around the world then we're nothing....

Brett, didn't those who argued the "liberty" angle lose that debate years ago? ;-)

I think they are in a distinct minority... kinda like the distinct minority that requested "democracy be brought to their shores with American guns and ammo." If quagmire isn't a geo-political understatement here, I don't know what is.
