Also I stumbled upon some fucking rock-idol wannabes the other day. Featuring Tommy Lee, Dave Navarro, Jason Newsted (wtf) and someone else (could be Mickey Mouse himself).
So this is what rock has become 2008. Attitude. tattoes. and a big fucking mouth. Lame, lame. So insanely lame. Metal is about pain, power and passion so of course my advice is to bring all this clowns to China or Japan where they can starve themselves a couple of weeks, which is good for true inspiration. Perhaps even fucking Tibet. I´ve heard Mickey Mouse has a huge cult over there. Bigger then Dalai Lama, himself..

I agree when it comes to commercialized rock and metal, I'm incredibly annoyed at what goes on with that shit.
But as far as Idol goes, it's a different story...doesn't reside in the rock or metal realm. Course some of the contestants are those kind of singers, some good, some not. But it's a singing contest period, and I completely understand why some people(especially rock and metal fans) wouldn't like it.
At the same time, I think that anyone who's a real music fan could...if they tried, find something redeeming and even entertaining about it. That's where I am, I love music and tons of different kinds...I always find a couple kids on the show that have real talent and even pick songs I like and sing them well. I like the competition part of it, little different from the typical cop shows and sitcoms. Plus it's a family thing for us, wife and kids like it...we debate over who's better and who's going home, etc....
So yeah, the commercial world of music blows ass...and this is very commercial. But I go in knowing that and don't expect anything different, and have found the fun in the show so I can overlook it.
